Ponniyin Selvan is a Selvam for tamilians and film industry. The courage of making that kaviyam to a film has to be applaud and encouraged. The novel is heights of imagination and this movie will be visual treat surely. The effort of putting together this screenplay and pulling all the actors, actress and technician for one great cause with spirit is not a easy task. You will experience a different kind of background score and music like never before. It is more naturally evolved with unique tunes. The movie is totally a treat to your senses and a blasting success with no doubt. I am sure this movie will make everyone know about our emperor and history. Finest Acting and Expression of the casts, their costumes, jewelry, art set, dialogues and more to mention as contributing factors. It is not a movie, it is padaipu, let us respect that and watch it to know cholas. Women are shown as brave women with brain and emotions and not just a show case piece. Film portrays feelings that are very humane. It is a film. A film is a film, a novel is a novel. Please understand the difference. For certain reason we need to accept certain things when it comes to filming... I love this movie. I feel proud to be watching it and it was a pleasant experience. I feel I can challenge anyone about my heritage and culture now. Director and Hero of the movie is kalki - rest all happened according to what wrote. It is his story, Jayamoham screenplay and Main's direction making us to hold on to the seat with the casts excellent performance. I feel I don't have that eligibility to critic this padaipu. It is epic, watch it without judgements and expectations. Note: if you have already read the novel please take that crown down and avoid criticism. If you are a true PS fan then honestly support this film. It would be your part of contribution to make the non-readers and the world to know about Tamil heritage and the cholan warriors.
