I had high hopes for this show after the first few episodes because I saw the potential for societal development. However, somewhere in the midst, all of that drive to create a full-fledged society just faded. Why are there not more people clamoring to contribute towards decision making? They held a trial but didn't write down what consequences there were to specific actions before hand? They had to execute someone at gunpoint rather than more humanely by some other means - they have a clinic. The actor for Will shows next to know emotions and the screen writers have no idea what do to with him character wise. Allie makes tons of stupid decisions, particularly regarding "the guard". The guard needs to be held to rules and Allie letting them do whatever is something that has backfired. Allie shouldn't have issued a death penalty. Campbell should have been arrested the moment Elle approached Allie with a trial held immediately. Allie kept letting Lexie walk all over her, she shouldn't have been allowed to interrupt the debate and she should be thrown out as a candidate for not following the rules. And I don't believe for a second that she would be so disorganized to not put her name on the list and show up on time. She also seems like she could be reasonable but for some reason isn't. She is obviously smart taking AP gov, but doesn't show it. Why is the guard suddenly so hungry for power.. its ridiculous. They were good at the beginning - how did they suddenly become so stupid.
This show does have good elements. The Elle-Campbell story line is absolutely horrifying to watch and it eats away at your insides, particularly with the pie at thanksgiving and when she escapes. I was so utterly shattered when Campbell took control and got Elle back. I cannot wait for this story line to resolve because I don't know if I can emotionally handle seeing Elle suffer more. The show has done a great job with this story line and the actor for Elle has done a superb job.
I also love Luke. He shows a strong, smart character that feels real and makes good decisions. The pastor girl and him are adorable and I was soooooo looking forward to a wedding. I really hope that the show does NOT split these two up. I WANT A WEDDING.
I also love Sam and Grizz and the Arabic Girl and smart astro-physicist-doctor-detective guy. All real cool characters that could really be pushed way farther in what these four characters can do. Same with the doctor girl. She is great.
I am conflicted about Harry. He'd a drug addict whose pampered and just wants to live off his riches. What's his ambition or passion? He's a lame flat character and I don't believe for a second that he could bounce back from depression so quickly and then become mayor. Bull.
