Overall this movie the movie was disappointing compared to the other 3. We did like the animation, the story line with Gru and Jr. was very touching and probably the best part of the movie.Things we didn’t like, the witness protection plot line could have been extended more mysterious, they blew his cover way to quick in the film, Next the mega minions , they barely got any screen time, and did not show how each of them perfected their skills, not only that they did not work together at the end to catch the villain, also they were hardly In the movie when the trailer was built around those scenes to hype up the film, we were let down they didn’t do anything about this story line. Speaking of storylines what was the deal with the “Poppy” story line? We felt it was unneeded and took away from the movie, they could have used that screen time to advance storytelling with Gru and his family , or the mega minions. Next the villain, we did not like him because cockroaches are gross and it he didn’t really have a good back story, not to mention he was hardly in the movie and did nothing to drive it. Last on the negative it seemed rushed , it did not feel like it was 90mins long We did like all the references like the T-2 chase scene was awesome, we say a solid 3, definitely worth the theater visit just as a good family movie, and now we get to leave a review so it’s still keeping us entertained.
