Deeply moving if in some senses implausible. Terrific performances but for me its success was making me think about love and adoption, and the inherent clash between our love of others and what we are told should be an unquestioning love of what we are told God requires us to do. On reflection I think some of the most memorable movies are those which make you think long after the credits have stopped rolling.

Sticks close to the novel while modernising the “feel” of the extravagance.I really enjoyed it.

It's one of the very few series I have actually looked forward to. I really wanted to know what would happen next.

Began well- enclosed community, whiff of a religious cult and then a spate of miracles. What's not to like? But then it descends into an absurd vampire movie . We kept watching but didn't use the pause button when we needed the loo or a cup of coffee. Prettily made pretentious tripe

Terrific performances from great actors.

Based on the torture and imprisonment without trial of a Mauritanian suspected of being involved in the organisation of the 9/11 atrocity, this is tough movie to watch, The mental and physical cruelty he endured is a matter of record but the unravelling of the carefully concealed horror of Guantanamo is painstakingly reconstructed, so painstakingly as to be dogged rather than exciting. The movie’s strength is its honesty but honesty for 2 hours can be a little dull. But everyone should see the movie as it’s a chronicle of great wickedness.

Basically a docudrama which shows off Benedct Cumberbatch’s huge acting talent- he is brilliant in the way Daniel Day Lewis was. He just is his character and goes beyond playing a part. Outstanding.

Nasty, exploitative , gratuitously violent soft pornish and a silly plot. Really sorry to see good actors (eg Charlotte Rampling) having to speak the clunky dialogue of a trashy, totally improbable script.
