Joey Rich

I honestly have no idea why this book is as hyped up as it is. While the story has potential, the characters and the writing style are so incredibly flat. The main character feels like the parody of a trans person, and the author holds your hand through the entire story, blatantly stating things that readers can figure out. The diversity as well feels so FORCED; like the author is trying to fit the wide spectrum of Latine experiences into one clean mold. Despite being trans character, Yadriel Flores feels so tokenized. As a trans guy, I was honestly super disappointed.
