Awful. The audience is asked to believe it's possible to become a nun simply by going to a convent and taking vows in a language the novice doesn't understand, and the movie just gets stupider from there. The plot holes in the biology and electrical wiring make the big plot twists ridiculous, although since the audience never suspends disbelief it's probably just as well. There's no character development except for the heroine's bizarrely shifting hair color, and although the Italian countryside is pretty and some of the sets are visually stunning, it doesn't make up for the lousy script.

Meh. I had no problem with Mads's performance (he had some big shoes to fill) but the plot was highly implausible even by wizarding standards. There was very little character development and despite the profligate use of CGI this is obviously nothing more than a money making sequel.
