I....I just....I dont know what to say, I went in expecting a goofy, silly time with that childish nostalgia, despite going through the naughties and being a boy who was never accepted if he played with dolls, and I left that cinema crying and wanting my own mother. It was cinematically great, but had a slight hint of Hollywood control. It was the message and the ideas and the motifs that genuinely had me emotionally confused. This idea of both the significance and destruction Barbie had on girls and women was a wonderful binary. I believe that this film should be free to view to encourage everyone to see it, as even though it is a message about female empowerment and a strive to bring women into the same world men get to enjoy, I believe there are even lessons for men to learn. I. Loved. Barbie, not just for its childishness but its message. Greta Gerwig made a cinematic, no, cultural masterpiece.
