Jai Ramdin

Wow, just finished watching this extraordinary film which I thoroughly enjoyed. The storytelling, acting, sets, costumes and cinematography were outstanding and the film had that magical folklore fairytale feel about it which was engrossing from start to finish. I couldn't quite pin the language as I'd never heard it before and interesting to learn that it was Basque. International cinema especially their horror is so much better than the crap coming out of Hollywood which does horror by numbers leaving you bored and yawning (The Pope's Exorcist anyone?) This is the 3rd international horror film that has been really entertaining (this film more so than outright scary) the others being a French werewolf film Eight for Silver and Polish horror masterpiece Hellhole which were also superb.

A dull predictable clichéd movie with zero scares and a woefully plodding pace. Absolutely no chemistry between the two main characters and the plot and dialogue is dismal. It's an insult to the fabulous original Japanese movie and the decent-ish American remakes. I watched it with my 15yr old son and 20 mins before the end we decided it wasn't worth 20 mins of our life to see it through so we dumped it.
