The idea that runs behind this movie is not bad, the efforts put towards highlighting a teenager's brotherly connection and social life is not bad--however it is highly INACCURATE and noticeably forced.
It's really Americanised, to an extent it's fine but they went overboard with this one. This movie could've been way more fun if they showcased how teenagers have fun in INDIA in actuality. No high schooler here parties that cheesily or talks that exaggeratedly horribly. Nat annoyed me so much there's absolutely nothing to her character. Almost all the characters are such stereotypes and awfully represented in the Indian scenario.
A high schooler teenager living in India myself, yes we do have fun by throwing rotten eggs at each other, drinking occasionally but that's only a minority. We dont have proms--or crazy rich FNPs.
I'm not saying portraying high school parties is bad I'm just saying they couldve made efforts to make it more Indian--or else what's the difference between this and lame American glossy teen shows made for the impatient 14 year old lovesick?
Their dialogues and lines were way too forced and unnatural. The actor who played Sid was alright.
What I completely liked about this movie is probably the Demonic Resurrection band t shirt representing the death metal scene in India--being a metalhead that kind of cheered me up.
