As someone who doesn't care about sports, Ken Burns' 9-part documentary is so interesting that I've watched it twice, that's how good it is. And given Willie Mays' passing, of special note is that one of the episodes is entirely devoted to Jackie Robinson and the Negro Leagues, and that is an education! P.S. Rob Penning's review is wrong, at least about Ty Cobb anyway. I remember that time was spent on him, and remember that he was an AH.

I wanted to like this show, but I just watched five minutes of the second episode, and I'm done. I hadn't watched the original Quantum Leap, but after watching the first episode of this remake...and I use the term very loosely [edit: It's closer to an "obliterate" than a remake]...I was curious, and started watching it. That was at least a month ago. Sorry, QL remakers, but I completely forgot about your show. Maybe your "little boy" audience is into all that tech stuff, but it's hardly a replacement for a decent script, a decent premise. It was almost four minutes into the second episode before there was even the vaguest development of a story line, and at around five minutes, I didn't expect there to be much of one anyway. This show isn't about anything...and not in a good way like Seinfeld...except gadgetry. Maybe I'll give it another shot after I finish the first version, only another four seasons to go. P.S. And not at all impressed by the new guy punching someone in the opening credits. How "manly".

The imagination and beauty displayed in this film is beyond stunning.

I watched the first episode after seeing the show favourably compared with This is Us, a show that I'm a big fan of. Completely wrong. Nothing against the actors, but Firefly Lane doesn't hold a candle to This is Us in terms of depth and complexity, or just basic story line. If a new show doesn't grab me right away, I usually give it a chance with a few episodes, but I was too bored to go beyond the first episode. I wanted to like it because of the women leads, but I found it to be the usual vacuous fare reserved for women viewers. The last "cliffhanger" scene included a particular man, and I knew what was coming, nothing original.

Ignore the Grinch critics. I'd love to see this on a full screen in a theatre; the special effects are great! This movie is really fun!!!

The best line of the movie, and no doubt the least noticeable to any male viewers, is explained by Olivia Truffaut-Wong of "Bustle": "Why are there no men in on the heist in Ocean's 8?" ask dissatisfied men on the Internet. Well, in Ocean's 8, Debbie Ocean, as played by Sandra Bullock, has a very specific reason for not including any men in her crew: she doesn't want the group to be spotted. "A Him gets noticed, a Her gets ignored. And for once, we'd like to be ignored," Debbie tells Lou (Cate Blanchett) while assembling the heist team. Not only is the quote a clear nod to the backlash to all-female movies, but it illuminates a specific, painfully real facet of living life as a woman. Yes, I enjoyed the movie; lots of fun.
