The dialogue was top notch, and the characters stayed true to themselves (which made me both happy and annoyed, if that makes sense)
It seemed like a genuine portrayal of the Oregon Trail - minus the bits of the love stories - I haven't researched enough, but the main character had a lot of leeway for a 17 going on 18 girl in the 1880s. On a lateral note, children were married at much younger ages during this time, so maybe it was pretty accurate?
The ending is heartbreaking, but very realistic.
The quips btw McGraw and Hill were hysterically amazing.
