I think the reviewers have their perspectives pointed in the wrong direction in their [4-word cut] quoted analyses. The storyline, for once, is more accurate than it is generalized, like so many as other attempts before it have been. As someone who lived through that period and all those since, I ask that anyone interested in watching this (and there should be a whole lot more like you) take an historiographic perspective instead. Try to appreciate the surprisingly accurate attention to detail both the storyline and the history are, and try to empathize, and don't judge its merits buy whether it's a clever representation of the actual book or not. Appreciate the craftsmanship by SHO in doing so well at blending the history accurately, and as importantly as the story. Watch, listen, and not judge.
