With the first episode so far, I really like how Joel has the sudden flashback of his daughter being shot from another guard twenty years ago, which gives him the high-level confidence of charging at the guard from the Boston QZ, killing him with his bare hands.
Also I don’t mind the cast so far either. I like how the Ellie character in the show is still pretty bossy as a teenager, but not as much as the one in the game.
The actor who plays Joel may have been a good suggestion to cast him for in this show, as I’ve seen him in a few humorous roles and he will probably entertain us even more as the main character.
The lady in the chair at the start was in a real still position. Then in the next shot, you know that the depth of field is blurred fully in the background to focus on Joel’s daughter but can still see the lady’s slight expressions of her suffering from getting the infection. That really makes the scene feel as that Joel’s daughter has no sense in what’s going on behind her.
Another thing is how the very start of the first episode originated in 1968 when there was a talk show about there ever being an infectious disease spreading around the world in the future. And to be honest, I guess those people were definitely right.
What I’m saying is that the rest of this show may be one the best video-game adaptions ever!
