It’s at a 4 because it can be quite schmaltzy and canned at times. And then there’s Angela. Ms Bassett brings a brevity, anger, fear, joy, depth, and reality to every scene.
When the episodes leading us into this season turned into Poseidon, I thought “somebody’s jumping the shark”. She steps in and lends a truth of moment, a certain real life breathlessness, that I’ve enjoyed since first call.
I tuned in from day one due to the presence of Peter Krause. A very cheesy guy in the early days, but a guilty pleasure of mine. I had no idea such Hollywood caliber would appear. To see the two of them together was magical, even before they hooked up.
