This movie is about the student-teacher relationship between Piccolo and Gohan. Just like for most of Gohan’s childhood, Goku takes a back seat and let’s Piccolo raise the children and grandchildren. A Dragon Ball Movie about saving the world isn’t anything new, but what is are the serious underlying themes and character developments- and it’s great! It shows Gohan’s success is directly caused by Piccolo’s teaching and influence. Awesome movie!
