Hmmm, Richard Geee is handsome and W. Ryder a doll, cinematography is darling BUT the story line is faulty, creepy, cliché of the 80s, and nowadays lacks credibility after the "me too movement" and the expose of Epstein sex scandal. A 50 year old pernicious womanizer falls in love with a 20 year old orphan raised by the alcoholic grandmother. Gets even better, he was a lover-friend with his late mother. A love or creepy story? This man enters into this young woman life and she shows up unaccompanied to his apartment with no friends missing or checking on her for days while her health is precarious. Hmmm. Kids in their 20s are texting each other every 5 minutes and checking on each other constantly even they are not dying. This promiscuous old man with commitment issues who fails to parent her now adult pregnant daughter --an overeducated reseracher who lands a curator job in NY --gets to convince her --during one overnight visit, to do him favors without investing time in their lost relationship and no healing time is required. Credibility , please. He is a restaurant owner in NY , a so called fancy chef and leaves his business for several days unattended to look for a doctor. Hmmm. Have you ever worked in a fancy restaurant? Moreover, the hospital staff and treating doctor favors the old man like the if he was a dad figure, or a husband, and ignore the only custodian person --the grandmother --when they check for her health status at the hospital. This script is so deluded that it would not be accepted nowadays due to lack of credibility. I am not against romance but why glorify an old rich man who in real life would continue to live selfishly and sexually exploit women 30 years younger than him if never caught? Bad guys do not change ladies.
