I am still on the 5th episode of the show, so the story is far from done, however something was making me a little uncomfortable and so I wanted to put it out here. I get the whole criticism of privilege and corruption in education and how harmful it can be to individuals as well as to the entire system, but I do get Ye Rin's argument to some extent, based on whatever criterion you create a system, it is going to be unfair to most, be it based on innate talent or economical background. Also, looking at the kind of stress she's under and feeling like she can't trust anyone and no one truly trusted her and her inevitable mental breakdown, she's the one my heart breaks for.
Also, with regards to the relationship between the ML and the FL, their relationship is coming off as quite controversial. Their relationship is one of significant power imbalance, and maintaining some distance is key to ensuring that it's a healthy one. The teacher's reactions and actions are coming off as completely biased and preferential, so I can understand why the other students are reacting in such a hostile manner. Furthermore, since at the moment it's not a school affiliated with MENSA, they shouldn't be focusing so much on the gifted students. As a teacher, I feel that the gifted students do need a little extra push, but it's the others who need most of your time and attention.
