I feel that Florence makes some valid points (mostly regarding how poorly women as a gender are treated) but being a married, heterosexual cis (god, I hate that word!) woman I felt she was attacking anyone that falls outside of the Trans, Queer, LGBT community. You’re almost shamed with the constant use of terms like ‘heteronormativity’…like if you can’t be pursued to question everything you know about yourself and tear your life apart after reading this book, that you’re just some brainwashed 1940’s housewife.
The aesthetics and energy Florence has are great, but I definitely feel the book is harsh and not like sitting down with a friend (which is what I was expecting).
