One of the most satisfying and rewarding gaming experiences I've ever had, if not the most. I started this game maybe 1 1/2 or 2 years ago, started playing but didn't really feel 'the click' and dropped the game for a few months. I later came back to it and essentially didn't stop playing until I beat it (which took a good while). From the visuals, to the mechanics, to the varying play styles of every player - it's a masterpiece.
I love love love the combat system, the 'dance' of combat is addicting. It's not like other games where you find yourself frustrated feeling like you got cheap-shotted; when you die you know what you did and how to fix it. I adore the back and forth flow of combat with bosses. While there are limitations to the customization compared to the souls games, there's still PLENTY of room to develop your own style (be that through prosthetics, combat arts, what items you choose to keep in your hot bar, or play style as a whole). There's no feelin like the first time you beat a boss - and the best part: I stopped playing for a few months after beating the game and came back and still could compete. Every single boss was a delight to beat (except guardian ape and mate in my opinion) and felt like I truly beat them, didn't just get lucky
As far as graphics go it's stunning, standing over fountain head palace after finally conquering the true corrupted monk is one of the most rewarding, triumphant moments I've ever felt while gaming. The ambiance to go with every area of the game is incredibly immersive. I've found very very few bugs (if any) and had an incredibly smooth experience even though I played on an xbox one from 2014.
After beating the game for the first time, I was delighted to find there were different endings of varying difficulty. And the gauntlets. Oh my gosh those gauntlets are a challenge if I've ever seen one. I still haven't beat them all :/
All in all, it's an incredibly challenging and satisfying game I recommend to anyone willing to pick it up (I also recommend the concept art book, it's facinating)
