Star Vijay’s Super Singer is fading away from it’s charm as a most watched reality programme on music. Be it the acnchors or the judges or the winners, nothing on its usual track. Super Singer 6 is the worst of the lot in terms of recognition to the real musical talent. Many deserving candidates being shown the door but to save Senthil and his wife. Folk is a form of music that has to be encouraged but what about many variations being put together by the other contestants which revolves around various musical forms? Is there proper justice for these talents? On a whole it was a well written script by Vijay TV and the panel of judges from the very beginning of the season with a winner being decided. All these days and episodes were just a formality and to fill the space in the Tamil audiance’s entertainment space and to keep up the channel’s TRP. Tamiliam can be as part of our blood, parampariam too but you should be unbiased towards others at the end. Super Singer 6 killed all the deserving talents and moved away from ethics by having adjudged Senthil as a winner by popularity not by talent. Big boss has started the second season with a powerful and attractive presenter Ulaganayagan Kamalahasan. Banging on its success and the popularity from the previous season, this show is supposed to turmoil the TV audience for sure for the next 105 days. But what’s worrying? There are 7 crore people in Tamilnadu and more than 7 crore Tamil audience watching this show all over the globe but aren’t there 16 Tamil speaking celebrities to select for this show? Why to choose the ones who doesn’t know or speak Tamil and insist them to learn and speak Tamil in the big boss house? Are these characters being brought in to the show to add glamour? Why is it so that most of these celebrities are chosen only from the film background? Few characters doesn’t value the Tamil tradition and culture and they feel its a curse to follow, then why the hell they participate in a Tamil reality show? Though the show has so many flaws in these terms, only the presenter keeps it to float with his mesmerising presence. But if he keeps on forgetting the adverse reactions on the Tamil tradition / culture by these so called housemates it is going to drag this show a flop. Still there is 60% of the season left, would it be possible for a genius like Kamal to pull it off without severe damage to the audiences’ cultural sentiments? Waiting to see the turnaround,...
