2023 Color Purple is an excellent remake of the first 1985 Color Purple which also was a great production that didn't get the recognition it deserved. The entire cast of this 2023 version was great and the singing and dancing was phenomenal. It made you laugh, cry and clap for joy. The cameo role with Whoopi being the mid-wife was genius. Fantasia, Taraji, Lou Gossett Jr, Danielle Brooks all did stellar Oscar performances. I pray they'll all be recognized for their talented, professional acting skills. Very disappointed the 1985 version was snubbed at the 86 Oscars.
