I was a massive fan of the originals as I'm sure most everyone else is who played this masterpiece. Needless to say, my expectations were sky high and boy were they exceeded. The attention to detail in this game is magnificent. While the story is not incredibly complex it is masterfully told. The colors are stunning, the graphics are lifelike and the experience is visceral. I have not enjoyed a game this much in a long long time. I found myself many times pausing the game to freak out a little bit over how cool it was. This is the future of FPS, or at least it should be. They really did a great job of making you feel like you were right in the fight. The character development is spot on. I found myself just hurting for Farah after all she had been through. I love that they had such a strong female lead too. While I'm not under the impression that those roles should be shoehorned into videogames just for diversities sake, the way they portrayed her and developed her character, it was perfect. Granted, there were parts that I didnt like, SPOILER WARNING: like Alex's demise. I felt it was sort of shoved in there to add drama. But holy heck, the fan service at the end had me cheering! I originally was not going to buy this game just because I have felt recently that all COD games are the same garbage recycled year after year, but boy this changed it all. I am hooked now. I will wait with excitement for the next installment to come out. This game was simply a masterpiece and I recommend all fans of the series to give it a chance. Apart from the stunning visual effects and just being an overall pretty game, it does a great job at storytelling.
