Don’t listen to the critics, yes Jared Leto was like a pizza guy Mario Brother, and Al Pacino was maybe, only, maybe not the greatest (hair and eyebrow dye issues, and just all around too NY Italian American), the film was great. Very enjoyable, beautiful to look at, told a very interesting story, easy to follow, made sense, made you think and feel really bad for a bunch of reasons at the end. Also made me want to read the book and also find out what happened to the daughter. I did not have a problem with over campiness or the accents, there was one family scene near the beginning that didn’t work, but really only one. So, go see it if you have any interest at all.
