This is a fun, different kind of show that stands out from a pile of truly unremarkable television. Palm Royale holds my attention when not much else does. I adore Kristen Wiig and hope this series is renewed for many more seasons! The setting also really helps to propel the show. I'm here for it all.

I enjoyed it; however, it was deeply unsatisfying not to see the obnoxious Malkovich's reaction to being WRONG. The ending was off.

This is a movie for those of us who still believe in a little romance and magic. Cynics and math majors needn't bother.

I loved this movie. It's a feel good, sweet fairy tale for a romantic. Best one I've seen in a while and a new favorite.

It's hard to rate this because it WAS entertaining, and I made it all the way through pretty effortlessly. But I had a major problem with how the script mistreats Tim, the son. It was heavily implied for too long that he and Davi were in a relationship. Then, when something unforgivable happens that is hurtful to Tim, the movie ignores and dismisses any hurt Tim may be feeling. All the focus is on the mother. Maybe Tyler Perry thinks gay people don't have feelings or are irrelevant or unworthy or...something. It rubbed me the wrong way.

As of the time of this review, there are eight episodes. The first few were fantastic! The last few, especially the last two, were so...DULL. The story is great, but the way it's being drawn out and drawn out and drawn out is painful! I lost count of how many times I fast-forwarded to get through the pauses and the silence and random singing. I don't understand why Amazon refuses to have a hit TV series. What is the problem? Clearly you have what you need to compete with Netflix shows, but someone is dropping the ball. Get it together.

I truly did not enjoy this movie at all. But instead of giving it zero stars, I'll be as objective as I can. Bullock earns a star for her performance, which is quite convincing. The other star is for the unexpected twist which I won't just causally give away. Davis should have had a larger role because she is simply magnetic. Why didn't I enjoy it? It was depressing AF, just wow. Bad vibes throughout.

It's an excellent movie, period.

This show starts out very strong and I continued to think so despite the absurd number of flashbacks and mental chitchats with the dead guy. But after a while, it gets to be more than a little annoying. They begin to take away from the story and make me use the little 15 second fast forward button too often. Without these vignettes or whatever they are, the show could be five stars.

I'm reviewing the show, not the topics or political agendas within the show. It's important to understand the distinction, which some viewers will not be able to do. A really great television show has the ability to draw you in, keep you entertained, and elicit passionate reactions. This one does those things.
