Ash Edis

This is such an underrated thriller in Malayalam.The cat and mouse chase was really good and kept me on the edge of the seat This movie is far better than Ozler which was medicore. Barring the female lead playing the role of cop Gracey, the rest of the cast was good. The casting team could have gone with talented actresses like Shwetha Menon or Lena who could have pulled it off really well.

This is one of the must different watch of the year and am glad I went for it, rather than paying heed to the negative publicity. The audience need not be this harsh to the movie and go with an open mind. This is an LJP movie and the audience should have an acquired taste similar to his movies like City of God, Ee Mau Yau. No two movies of his are different and is one of the most exciting directors to watch out for. Unfortunately, audience are being too unrealistic and whiny. These same people have applauded movies like Thallumala ,Jawan , Brahmastra etc which was medicore at just and was focused only on the physical appearance of the actors on screen,with weak acting. Mohanlal and the cast have done a very good job, visually stunning and quality of this film is really top notch.To get this experience, watch it in a theatre. Pl don't miss out on something just because the wider group doesn't support it. Let me end this review by quoting Haruki Murakami "If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking"

"Neelavelicham"as a whole, is a nice effort and experience. I felt casting had to be improved. I felt Rima Kallingal was a wrong choice for the Bhargavi. She is not a versatile actor and wasn't able to emote well. Also, I felt Tovino was a wrong fit for the playing author's call. I felt the acting was not natural and was studied. He is not intuitive. Roshan and the rest of the cast was spot on.

This was one of my favourite childhood movies. I feel the absurdity and eccentricity is what needs to be apprepciated. Being an adult, I would still like to watch this movie, if its available on any of the OTT platforms.
