Clever premise but poor presentation. The story mixed reality world of the main character with the beyond-reality in the mind of the mind of the character, a novel writer. The constant mixing was difficult to fathom until the storyline began to emerge after a prolonged buildup of the main character. Action segments were fine and entertaining if you like Jack Reacher or similar types of movies. But a late action segment was so out of character with all prior segments that those of us still awake were tired of figuring out what was going on.
