Beautiful cinematography in a tediously long, boring movie. Too many elements of the movie make absolutely no sense at all. The main feature that has me calling BS is the hot, twenty-something girl bartender instantly falling for the near 80-year old man who wears suits at a coastal beach resort near the equator and doesn't say anything. Or was she setting him up? I watched the whole movie and I still don't know. Perhaps some elements that would have tied things together were left on the editing room floor? Either way, I cannot possibly recommend this movie.

I thought this movie was well done. The premise is similar to Ocean's 11, of course, but the characters and the narrative are quite different. It's clever and engaging with excellent cinematography and a nice script with enough surprises to earn its keep.

This is an excellent movie. Well written, well-crafted, artful, and impactful. Mel Gibson and the ensemble cast do an excellent job in conveying this story, a story that needs to be told. It was respectful to the Vietnamese and provides a holistic approach to the subject, rather than a myopic one. This is not a standard fare war film by any means and I highly encourage thoughtful people to give it a well deserved viewing.

Worn and dated, this "classic" simply is not good. It's tedious to watch as every mildly amusing scene results in hysterics from the actors. Implausible, unrealistic, and over-acted, Porky's only plays to the most juvenile of minds. I give it two stars instead of one simply because there was some mild cleverness amidst the silly, poorly scripted chaos.

Plodding, unfunny, and unclever this movie doesn't even try to be worth watching. Plot holes abound while bad jokes fall flat. Chloe Sevigny gives the only decent acting performance while everyone else simply showed up and shrugged through their tired lines. Last but not least, Tilda Swinton's character is simply too bizarre and too scripted. I am surprised that this film was even made.
