I don’t know why I’m doing think. Just putting things in perspective I guess. This was not a good ending for “You”. This is an encouragement for bad behaviour. In the end, he gets everything. The money the chance to recreate his image as a ”good person”. Bad behaviour needs to be punished there needs to be some sort of redemption or accountability for all that he did. In the end, he was the cause of his own demise. And the only one whose judgement needed to change was his own. As he always said things like “I did it for her” “I did it to save this or that” ”I’m a good person”. A good ending would have been suicide. An emotional encounter with self and applying judgement. This could have been so much better. Him talking to himself. Knowing what he has done what a man he has been and being helpless with it all. Looking into oneself is not good enough. You need to be disgusted with your actions to even imagine true change. Joe NEEDED to think of himself with such disgust that the only way he could see himself moving on or making any good is by killing himself. The end could have been what candace said that he would wanna get could knowing what he really is.
Joe has been a walking sign of “I am sane and I do good” which of course was never true but there was hope for redemption in all our hearts. His completely falling into “I have a split personality” was a slap on the face. Some aspect is fine for the “encountering with oneself”, but this is not that, far from it…
I am disappointed… There are so many holes in the story. So many ways Joe could have been caught but coincidently never did. “You” had so much potential. All you hear Joe saying is “I’ve made some mistakes” these were not “mistakes” these were stalking and murders. Having him see that would have made him a human being who deserved accountability rather than a robot that is so alien to us that we can neither relate with nor cry for.
A waste of a character an ending and a series. Bravo 👏
