Unfortunately, this movie does not deliver as Ip Man 1 did (my favorite martial arts movie) just because of the truly cringe-worthy and random plot points. The topic of racism seen is real but is thrown around with no genuinely powerful scenes. What I do give this movie is the choreography and the few emotional scenes there were. The ending flashbacks were very powerful and Ip Man's relation with his son packs a punch. But overall, there isn't anything other than the pure action that supports this movie, unlike Ip Man 1, an all-around good movie.

David Makes Man is an excellent show and had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. It is a tour through David's mind as he struggles with the past and his current situation in project housing. Juggling his harsh hometown pressures with his aspirations to go to school is an extremely vivid and real interpretation of low-income areas. What I love most about this show is how David's hallucinations are a vehicle for expressing his true perspective or his internal struggle. All in all, this show is a very real coming-of-age story that leaves you not knowing what choice David should realistically make next.

It's clear that Kaufman has mastered the art of subtlety. Throughout the movie, darker shades are used, weird events are disregarded, and loneliness is evident. Only at the end is there a brighter image. There's a certain tension throughout the movie as well due to Jake's compulsive and erratic behavior. This multifaceted movie incorporates quotes from books, dances, and even musicals to explore the concept of imagination. Being hurled into reality after a dream shows how we must take steps to be alive. The cues that help the watcher grasp the truth of the story reveals a depressing reality about our world. It's a very complicated, yet rewarding movie.

Haven't even finished the season yet, and I'm fully ready to give a 5/5. It's an awesome sci-fi fantasy show which uniquely combines different genres. I feel that the monsters and depictions of the Cthulu Mythos are an expression of racial injustices which is a very creative usage of the genre. At times, the acting can be overly dramatic, but I still hold that the story is extremely fresh with a new adventure every episode.
