Outstanding in every respect (acting, cinematography, sound, script, pacing). Shot in black and white with gorgeous evocative images of a simple, austere, no frills landscape: the barest of main streets, the bars, the grain elevators and crop sprinklers, the trucks following long straight highways. Hilarious as it skewers some aspects of the Midwest’s citizens but also true in its quiet and tender moments treating these lives. Superb cast. A faithful portrayal of Nebraska as its entertaining characters journey through to the prize…a great success.
