This novel is amazing. I read it, at every available moment, while on vacation. There wasn't one character who - in keeping with the plot - I didn't like. The heart and caring in this book is evident. The surprise ending, which I thoroughly did NOT see coming, only underscores the brilliance and capability of the writer, Olive Collins. I plan to find and read her two prior novels.

My first Laura Joh Rowland novel. I found it to be wonderfully written. In some places, the dialogue broke down to remedial television script writing, but not often. Overall, a solid 4-star rating.

I've read this novel twice. The dialogue, characters and plot were equally engaging and compelling both times. It's a keeper. The movie was wonderful, too. Read and enjoy.

Very good in places. Drags in others. I skipped sections just so I could get to the more actionable plot twists. Does set out vivid descriptions of the wounded and deceased soldiers.

Hard not to love a Linwood Barclay book. Any of them. I rate this between a 3-star review and a 4-star review. Since I'm a big fan, I'm not unbiased. Any L Barclay novel is worth a look. Enjoy.
