The first parts of the book were so well written, one recalled the glory days of the New York Times which housed the best writers on the planet. It's a shame that the author could not stay on task - focused on a history of computer viruses and deadly zero day exploits.
Instead (and predictably), this NYT "journalist" had to lean into what seems to be the new role of the liberal press as a mouthpiece for the left. The book did not require her political biases and that's the shame of it. I guess that these NYT activists are so focused on keeping false narratives alive that truth in journalism is a worthy loss for them. The libs love to use the term "existential threat to democracy". The loss of a free and unbiased press fills that bill.
