This show is my last. I've watched every season from the beginning and see a trend away from people seeking love and connections to hookups and meaningless relationships. I thought Matt was different.
However, I think Matt & his mother have a ton of baggage and that they should seek counseling to work through the desertion of the husband/father. Matt wasn't ready to make a declaration of love. I was saddened to see the emotional breakdown Matt experienced at the end of the show. However, that said, ABC should have done a better job of vetting Matt's emotional and relational ability to go through the season.
I was also saddened to see how Rachel was portrayed. I saw a beaten woman at the final show. She was not forgiven for an incident that she clearly regretted and apologized for. I give her lots of kudos for subjecting herself to national TV, knowing how Matt felt. How often have an of us done something we later regretted. She didn't and doesn't deserve the abuse that's clearly been cast upon her. Matt should be ashamed with the way he treated her on national TV.
Chris Harrison also doesn't deserve the treatment by Bachelor nation or his own network. When has our censorship of any kind of alternate viewpoint brought this kind of hatred? I thought he had thoughtful questions and responses to the interview that later caused the loss of his position at ABC. Shameful we can't have any alternate dialogue these days.
