I've never really written a review on a k-drama. also, I'm not writing one now just because of Jisoo. moreover, this drama is still ongoing. I have to say, I was pretty unmoved by the first 2 episodes but I decided to give it time since most dramas start slow. the first 3 episodes were as slow and anticlimactic as I had presumed. this drama is getting more attention because of its cast and I believe it wouldn't be in hot water if the female lead was played by a different actress.
that being said, Ji-soo's acting was nothing extraordinary in the first few episodes. fair enough, because there wasn't too much going on. episode 7 was released today, and I have to say, she has amazing chemistry with the cast, and I have completely disassociated Eun Yeong-ro with Kim Ji-soo and I see her character first and then the immensely popular k-pop idol.
The plot for the drama is very different from a usual k-drama, and the cliffhangers actually keep me up at night. I think Jung Hae-in's character Lim Soo-ho has an interesting dynamic as well because I disliked him episodes 4 through 6. The power-hungry politicians we see a lot in k-dramas seem more human in some ways. though I absolutely hate the wives. and SPOILER- but the sudden twist with Yoo In-na's character is what made me write this review. I didn't see it coming, and I was definitely shocked.
i want to end it with this. there's no way they're going to end up together, and we even know it has a tragic ending, but I can't help rooting for them. I hope the show keeps doing a good job and doesn't disappoint me in the end.
