Don’t be a sissy and put a book down on page 7 because of some offense over politics. This book is so much bigger than that. The psychologically gripping and observant storyline, reminiscent of Stranger Things mixed with the same nostalgic teen adventures he engages with so well. It’s disturbing, riveting, written with the precision of Hemingway. He holds the tension boiling just below the surface of this bizarre and yet familiar dreamscape. He pulls the reader along, with slow calculated force. A masterfully wrought story. And one that actually has something big to say about hope, survival, inequity, and inner strength. I believe, one of the greatest works of fiction ever published.
