My favorite Stephen King novel is Salem's Lot. Read it when it first came out. Saw the mini-series with David Soul, loved that. This movie, which is a shortened version of the story, really brings you back to the time of that era. The small town. The cars. The people. And the music. Gordon Lightfoot's "Sundown" is stuck in my head. Perfect! The acting was spot on. Fun to see Lewis Pullman have many of his dad's mannerisms. Several jump back, heart in throat, gotcha moments in this movie. Pretty true to the original story, though there were some creative differences. The only thing I didn't like was the way the blood splattered (I say splooshed) at various times. More so for effect than for semi-reality. I would still rate this movie as very, very good.
