Tell me why the last two suspense/mystery novels I have read have been absolute garbage. This one and “Never Lie”. I am pissed that I even wasted my time on these two books. Both of them are written in first person, and the main character is the one who has committed the crime, but they act shocked and confused while trying to figure out what could have possible happened to the victim. It’s their own INNER MONOLOGUE! It’s infuriating. It’s bad writing, and it feels like a cheap plot twist. Never reading another novel by this “author” again.
