It reads like a movie. Very entertaining. The stakes feel real, the plot has substance to it. The similarities between it and a lot of YA novels are glaring. But it is NOT a YA novel. And after a while, it does a good job of separating itself from the crowd.
I certainly enjoyed reading it, as I’m sure will most people.

The writing is really good. The characters are a strong setup. It has the campy playful nature of Fallout, but it also does a good job of balancing it with a serious tone and tackles some heavy topics. War, morality, relationships. It’s a fantastic setup.
The problem is… it has the entire Fallout universe on a leash now, and if they move forward with a second season and mess it up or run it off the rails it could ruin the cannon/lore for every subsequent game after. High stakes.
All in all, it’s a fantastic watch. Definitely queues non Fallout fans into the universe. Here’s hopin’ it all pans out ok!
