I'm just laughing at all the reviews calling this series "woke". Just because there are gays in it, they think liberals are cramming gayness down their throats. It's downright laughable. There were just as many gay folks in the 1800s as there are now and have been for the entire human existence. I studied cultural anthropology in college and, believe me, there were gay Native Americans - always. They were called "contraries". Lots of folks complaining of the accents - there were all kinds of accents in the 1800s but how could we know what they sounded like since the human voice wasn't recorded until the 1860s. And even then, it was decades before people heard recorded voices. I guess these people that want a series with current American accents should just stick with Yellowstone. The reason why many series and movies hire British actors is because they are usually classically trained and easier to work with than many American actors. They are usually cheaper to hire, too. So, I guess I'll keep watching the show and see if I actually like it.
