Farha is a slow burning drama about a young Palestinian girl and the trauma she experiences during the Nakba in 1948. Her story is so important to share, and this movie is essential to bringing Palestinian stories into mainstream media and improving understanding of the occupation of Palestine and the Nakba.
Karam Taher did a wonderful job playing Farha. Even though there was very little dialogue towards the end of the movie, Taher expertly conveyed her character's emotions through her body language and facial expressions. The story slows down in the middle, but by focusing on Farha's emotional journey through up-close shots and creative lighting choices the filmmakers make the viewer really feel her frustration, horror, and desperation. The attention to detail in the costumes was also stunning! 5/5.
