Found out about this movie while on a cruise with some New Zealanders who recommended it as it was on the free cruise tv and it’s grown to become my favorite movie every time I watch it I notice something new like how he tries to cook his cold pak he used to use as a blankie or how the girl in his picture supposed to be his mom looks eerily like Paula hall, the child welfare officer chasing him throughout the bush. Taika Waititi makes brilliant use of simple music with keyboard synthesizers that is so underused in today’s movies when you hear it it sounds like a revelation. The characters they meet like the #staymaori family or psycho Sam are all extremely memorable, however generic they may seem. I give this movie an 11/10 and I can’t wait so see what taika waititi does next
