Stoked because NieR Automata was a game changer for me in the world of gaming. Bummed because... where do you go from here? That's peak gaming. That's peak story telling. I have yet to play a game that challenges philosophy or the understanding of life and consciousness (other than maybe SOMA). This game is profound and the gameplay is so fun. The combat is satisfying without being overly complex or simple. It's balanced. And it's beautiful. I love the character designs, the scenery and the MUSIC. This game is pure art and I can't get enough. I do have the pleasure of playing NieR Replicant and I'm stoked that NieR Reincarnation should be released at the end of this year but.. Don't get me wrong I have played and loved many games but this one takes the cake. Quickly and easily hit #1 in my heart for favorite games. Where do I go from here? Where does gaming go from here? And let me add how refreshing it is to play a game that feels like art and not a money grab. Gaming really felt like it was getting fast and sloppy but this changed that for me. I wish there was more of it. Honestly. I can't get enough of this game, this world, these characters, this music, this lore. It is purely and simply a masterpiece.
