Not a "bad" movie but it falls down on a few important points. The acting was excellent. The film fails to create real tension before the big reveal which anyone watching had pretty much guessed by then anyway. I was wondering if there would be a supernatural element but apart from that, I had a pretty good idea what was going to happen, just not what shape it would take. I don't think it was intended to be hidden though so . . . yeah. As I said, the acting was very good although I think it had at least two too many characters. We only get a snapshot of most of them. A better idea would have been to give us a bit deeper look at fewer. All that said, not a bad flick and I really did like the last minute. I think the basic idea could have been managed much better, with more tension and a chance to invest with at least a few of the people. Honestly, I didn't find myself liking any of the characters enough to really care what happened to them.

Hahaha.... SO many harsh words in the reviews! Okay, it's not the most amazing thing I've ever seen but it's solid entertainment. I can't even really put my finger on why exactly, I just know that I really enjoyed it. Kim Coates has to be one of the most underrated actors ever. I don't know why, but he's one of those very good actors whose face you immediately recognise but can't place the name. Anyway, he's excellent in this. This very original show is easily intelligent enough to keep you interested without being actual work to follow. There are twists and a few unexpected developments, the acting is top notch and the effects are everything they need to be without being so much that they take away from the story and the acting.

I enjoyed the movie. I very nearly didn't watch it because frankly, I am sick of "Gypsy curse" movies and the very brief description I had of this film made it seem like just another one of those. Although it really isn't very scary, it is a bona fide horror story about a landowner who takes part in a massacre of Gypsies he believes are squatting on his land with a view to claiming it for themselves. I won't spoil it for others but there is a curse invoked that includes not just himself but his innocent family as well. The "creature" is not a werewolf, or a vampire or any of the usual horror movie boogeymen we're used to. As far as I know, it is unique to this film. The acting was excellent all round and the props, sets and costumes, made me feel as if I was watching a serious period piece. "The Cursed" has a couple of things that irritated me but these are plot related and I can't explain them without potentially ruining what is, I think, a very good movie.

Hmm.... I think the IMDB rating of 2.7 is too low. I'd give it a solid 4. Frankly, I think it owes more to "Scream" than to "Hellraiser". That said, most of the sad offerings within the Hellraiser franchise are pretty awful and this certainly isn't the worst of them. The acting isn't too bad but I really do not like the new Pinhead. Original Pinhead is a Cenobite of few words. Remember Kirsty in the first one,"You've done this before, right?" to which he answers," Many, many times". Pinhead doesn't get emotional. He doesn't get all worked up. Taking souls, rending flesh, administering agony and ecstasy, this is what the Cenobites DO. What they've been doing for millennia or longer. THAT is the scariest thing about them. They can't be frightened off or bribed or appealed to. This is a day at the office. To be fair to the actor, Steven Smith, I think he did his best with a lousy script. As a stand alone horror flick, it was good enough for me to watch all the way through. The original "Hellraiser" was a work of art, a truly brilliant movie. To compare this movie to the 1987 classic would be unfair, so my "4" is based on comparison with other modern horror movies. Watchable but ....meh.....

Beautifully produced, superbly acted and a thoroughly enjoyable story....just please don't take it as history. It just....well, it just isn't. That being said, neither is "The Tudors" and that TV production inspired a hemisphere wide resurgence of interest in this period of medieval British history that doubtless prompted much wider reading. As with any movie that attempts to portray so much of reality past into a couple hours, enjoy, but keep some grains of salt handy.

Great movie in many ways but it just stops. Mid story. No conclusion. They just didn't end it.

American comedy about vacuous girls in a sorority . . . I'm a 51 year old dude from New Zealand where we don't even have sororities. The description is about as far from anything I'd even consider watching as it's possible to get. Sorority spoofs were all done in the nineties and they weren't that funny then. This show however was nothing short of brilliant. Emma Roberts has an amazing talent for comedic acting. I only discovered Scream Queens because I was looking up cast members from American Horror Show but I'm very glad I did. Unfortunately, there won't be a season three which is a real shame because this show was good for another two or even three seasons. If you're looking for the most brilliant, well-crafted, perfectly timed, logically consistent show ever made, I'd advise you to keep looking. If you're looking for a lot of silly fun, very, very well acted, zany comedy, I'd highly recommend both seasons of Scream Queens.
