As a huge fan of Robert Jordan’s books, I struggled through the TV version. It is so far from the books that I can’t believe that his wife even approved this. Every episode found me rolling my eyes about something that NEVER happened in the books… The only positive reviews I’ve read are from people who never read the actual story. And I can see that being accurate, as the visuals and the story told on TV would appeal to fans of the genre. The best thing to come out of the series for me has been the desire to go back through the entire series by audio book. I own the original books in hardcover, but audio is the way I spend most of my literary time now. I won’t spend one more minute on any further TV versions of The Wheel of Time because it feels SO VERY far from the amazing world created in the books. They are a complete waste of time for anyone who is a true fan of Mr. Jordan.
