If you want glorified violence with defined and visually identifiable bad guys a la the Purge, this is not it. This is an accurate depiction of wanton violence, and intentionally leaves out political or ideological background to illuminate the fact that war is hell. Short periods of levity and/or nothingness, punctuated by unceremonious executions. An important film. Dunst plays a veteran war journalist suffering from extreme PTSD, and she deserves an Oscar for her performance. I will not see this again.
