I was excited for another dinosaur creature feature movie, and if you take it as that, it's ok. There's a lot of tropes with no explanation, plot details are scarce. They clearly thought "dinosaurs attacking all the way to the escape pod" would carry it. But they also made no attempt to create accurate- or even recognizable- dinosaurs, ie that big one I thought would be a t-rex from the previews only had a t-rex head, plus way longer arms that it used to attack them and also at one point ran on all fours. The ending is also very abrupt with unanswered questions. This is a background movie for eating pizza, not for deep thinking.

I appreciated the acting and most of the story but it wasn't until episode 5 that I realized - while the high school was conducting a "monster drill"- that the public acknowledged the presence of monsters. That kinda threw me and changed my perspective. Until that point it seemed like every other storyline of family secrets where creatures are covert and humans think they're myths. And the special effects are laughable. I mean really, really bad. I tried to ignore that and just appreciate the acting.
