An excellent book (or, in my case, audiobook) about a dark chapter in our country’s history that I, admittedly, had very little knowledge. Rachel Maddow writes and narrates with such an entertaining ease that completely captures the reader or listener. Pair this book with Maddow’s 8-part podcast, Ultra, for a broader picture of this ugly, yet fascinating (and timely) bit of history.
