I was curious and interested in Anne and Gilbert's love story. That is why I watched it after I saw some of their movie clips on social media. As expected, this film gives me astonishment about Anne and Gilbert's love story. However, it does not stop there. This also opened my mind to be knowledgeable and well-aware of the different issues that our society is still facing today. It teaches a lot of life lessons, and if this piqued your curiosity, you might want to watch and discover the greatness of this series yourself.Â
A more detailed information about the film:
It is about an orphaned young girl who seeks love and affection. As time passed by, Anne was able to find a home in Prince Edward Island called Green Gables. I was very surprised by its setting. It has a serene view with its lake, mountains, farms, animals, and flowers. Consequently, it gives so much scope for the imagination. At first, she was having a hard time adjusting to the new environment as everyone around her made her feel that she didn't belong there. Nevertheless, with the help of Matthew and Marilla, who adopted her. She was able to conquer the bad criticism that was thrown at her. She has a brave heart. That is why she was capable of always standing up for herself no matter what. Anne also tried to understand what was right and wrong since it was never taught in the orphanage. So, as time went on, gradually, she was able to learn the right behavior that she must have towards other people. Anne is a bright girl who loves reading and writing. However, as she was always neglected, growing up in the orphanage, being talkative was inevitable for her and most of the time, too much and needed to be stopped. This series also talks about social issues such as patriarchy, feminism, and racism. Women in the 18th century had no right to any fortune or inheritance without a husband. They cannot decide for themselves unless they have a partner. Perhaps a woman's life depends on a man's hand. They were powerless at that time. When this issue was raised and written Close-minded people were triggered by women's rights. They added limitations on the topics of the newspapers. On the other hand, racism is about discrimination and prejudice. It is concisely illustrated in the movie how these things happen. Black people are being mistreated. If they saw someone who was black, they assumed that they were delinquents without even knowing them. You will know in the movie about the life of Sebastian, who portrays the real life of the people who are being discriminated against because of their race. Sadly, today our world is still going through the same problem. Black people are still being criticized. Lastly, you will learn the different points of view and lives of different characters. And, of course, there's the love story between Anne with an E and Gilbert Blythe, which provides excitement and thrills in the film.
(It is honestly one of the best series I have ever watched :))
