SPOILERS:
I enjoyed the mystery aspect of the book and the thought of erasing trauma. I also like how the author wrote Scarlett and Lucas' point of view and how they were remembering things and seeing things differently. I hated the love triangle and thought that Avery was very stuck up and selfish, caring more about getting with Lucas than about finding her missing brother. I think that Avery and Lucas' relationship is unnecessary and rushed, along with Lucas and Scarlett's falling out of love. I wouldn't have minded if Lucas and Scarlett got together or if there wasn't a romance incorporated at all. I also thought the ending was rushed. There was so much build up with the phone calls and Miranda only to find that Max had died from an asthma attack, even though no one, not even the characters in the book, knew that he was asthmatic. It felt like the author didn't know what to do and just wrapped it up quickly. I wish Kristen had had her own perspective instead of Avery since her perspective didn't have much plot purpose except for the development of her and Lucas' relationship. The ending felt sour since the person who had kidnapped them hadn't been caught, Max was revealed to be dead and then forgotten about and since it was in Avery's perspective who had arguably suffered the least. I wish the end could have been Scarlett and Lucas coming to terms with the fact that they are not who they were before and that they can be whoever they want to be instead of Avery being upset that memories are fleeting and that eventually she'll 'leave' too. I also HATED the limited descriptions we got for everything. There was barely any description of the setting and the characters appearances which makes it more difficult to visualize what is happening.
