I realise this “version” of Noah’s Ark isn’t popular with people who wave the canon over their heads, worshipping the book instead of the God who inspired those writings, however there are in fact other texts, The Book of Enoch, The book of the Jubilee, The book of Jasher etc etc.
The inclusion of “The Watchers” within this film rendition, and the inclusion of Enoch as well, are in fact - correct.
Obviously the rendition of those inclusions, are presented incorrectly, but it was nice to see the expanded perception of those days.
I didn’t consider this a bad movie, but I did realise populist Christianity would balk and squirm because of their fluffy bunny pseudo spirituality.
But then again, everyone is given a measure of faith and most simply aren’t willing to let God show them things outside of their comfort zone, especially when so many have made God in their own image, rather than changing their image into God’s nature.
The problem imo is that the flood has been romanticized rather than a deep understanding of the nephilim, the watchers, the raping of human women by the watchers who forfeited their spiritual form, the savagery which existed in those days etc etc - ironically though not as savage or as evil as our days today.
I wasn’t at all surprised that the watchers were incorrectly presented - because again, few believe in nephilim, or for that matter know to what is referred within the canon in regards to the men of renown, or for that matter, make any effort to research them, so they wouldn’t at all have the first clue regarding the watchers.
It was disappointing that it wasn’t shown where Enoch was taken up in a chariot of fire, long before Elijah - being the only other human who never tasted death, especially as he along with Elijah will be the two witnesses, because after all, it is given to man to live once and then sleep and then the judgment so it is self evident simply by God’s word that the two witnesses have not tasted death, and the idea that the spirit of dead prophets or angels possessing human bodies is wholly and completely contrary to God’s nature, and something which can only occur by a living human by their free will allowing a demon to possess them.
I would hope this movie would encourage those who have a greater faith to research those items which were omitted from the canon - leaving the bulk of the Noah and the flood story only partially told.
